Barb Lund's formal clay eduation is modest, consisting of 3 classes at the
Campus Community Art Center at IU and 2 semesters at IU's ceramics
department with Richard Burkett in 1984-85. She then fell into running two
pottery studios and teaching begining clay classes by being in the right
place at the right time. In 1990 Barb moved into her wonderful studio
behind her home near downtown Bloomington where she can be found happily
potting away. The main focus of her clay work is 6 color lines of midrange
stoneware dinnerware. Her specialty is clay Doumbeks- a Middle-Eastern
style of drum with goatskin heads and coordinating sashes and ribbons. Barb
participates in many art and craft fairs evey year both locally and across
the country. Folks are welcome to come visit the studio but it is always
good to call first to be sure Barb is home.
