A little about the artist

Born in Indianapolis, and raised in Nashville, Ind. I was always interested in painting and pencil drawings. After I got out of the military I put my interest in art on the back burner and went into the masonry trade. I have been laying bricks for over 30 years. Since brickwork is an "ART FORM," I guess it satisfied my desire to be creative. And since I'm getting older, my interest in, and ability to continue in the trade has waned. I now carve mushrooms from wood and stain them for a realistic look. They are then displayed in different ways to give them a fresh "Just Popped Up" look.

Black Morel

Morchella Elata. Displayed to look like they just popped up after a nice warm spring rain. The greenery is artificial. but the moss, twigs, and nut pieces are real.

Yellow Morel

Morchella Esculenta. One of the most sought after edible fungi.

Shadow Box

Shadow box is oak. It displays three of the most popular edible mushrooms. Black, Yellow, and Half free. Again displayed in there natural environment.
