Jeff Jackson

A little about the artist

I'm a 41 year old, lifelong Indiana resident. I attended Indiana University, graduating in 1981. After working seven years for a telecommunications company in Terre Haute, I returned to Bloomington to work for Indiana University Information Technology Services. I'm quite happy to be back.

I do abstract drawings in pen and paint them with watercolor/pens and markers. The drawings tend to be somewhat mathmatical, similar to fractal images, Northwest Indian art, Chinese art, and buddist mandalas.

Conceptually, many of the drawings attempt to capture form with formlessness. Many represent cosmological and religious conceptions of consciousness.

Sandpainting

16x20 Matted and Framed $200

This pen and watercolor, due to the paper texture, appears similar to the ritual sand paintings done by Tibetan Buddhist Monks.

Dancer

16x20 Matted and Framed $200.

I thought about naming this one Shiva, but I figured the english equivalent would be more recognizable, albeit at the expense of the connotation of Shiva's dance.

Laya

11x14 Matted and Framed $80

A laya center is an ancient conception roughly equivalent to the idea of the Big Bang, the flip side of a black hole.
