A little about the artist


Bridgette Z. Savage draws from many avenues of experience and training in the creation of her mixed media pieces. From and early age, it was obvious to her that the act of creating works that described both physical and emotional realities was something that she needed to do in order to understand Life. Her work has been exhibited in the Sheldon Swope Gallery of Terre Haute,IN, St. Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute,IN, the Womens' Art and Music Festival in Bloomington, IN, the Bellevue Gallery in Bloomington,IN, and other Midwestern shows. She holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and a Master's degree in Counseling from Indiana University. All works are copyrighted, and may only be reproduced with express written permission from the artist.

Mixed Media: Rag paper, colored pencil, watercolor, stainless eel pins. c.1998 Tendernesses are like butterflies, and in classifying them, we risk ending up with neatly arranged collections of dead things, instead of living moments.

The Perfect Marriage

Mixed Fiber c.1998 This piece has male and female elements which combine to create a single object/experience. The convolusions and the concealments are co-dependent.
